He worked closely with CDOT Headquarters and Regional Superintendents and onsite maintenance staff towards making this a very successful project. He developed the unique concept of evaluating greenhouse gas emissions and reduction strategies at rest areas.
Art demonstrated professional communication and coordination skills. The communication between us and his responsiveness to my requests was excellent. Art kept me apprised of the task’s progress throughout the project and we had several productive working sessions together. He developed presentations for and worked well with the CDOT Study Panel.
Under Art’s direction the sustainable rest area task was successful and provided CDOT important recommendations on how to improve rest area operations using sustainability concepts. The project’s recommendations provided CDOT with cost effective options in the areas of water conservation, solid waste management, energy conservation and environmental enhancements and are under consideration by CDOT’s Sustainability Council.
